Case Study G1

Gas Training & ACS Rooms

IQA Uilities Gas & Building Maintenance Teams recently completed a high profile project at James Watt College, Greenock constructing Gas Training & Assessment Rooms.

This involved taking two empty rooms & turning them into a training room & an assessment room.

All works (gas, electrical, construction & decoration) were carried out by IQA Utilities staff.

The completed training room consists of a "house" with a kitchen & a lounge, a flue wall & practical bays.

The completed assessment room consists of a "house" with 2 identical lounges & practical assessment areas.

Both room were completed with the appropriate safety devices fitted.

As there was no gas available in either room, this had to be run in from the college gas lines, tested & certified. This was carried out by IQA Utilities staff.

The project was completed on time & on budget. All staff involved enjoyed working on the project & the college are delighted with the rooms.

For more information on the courses available in these new rooms, please visit the James Watt College web site by clicking here.
